Project Summary

The purpose of this group project was to contribute to a Distributed Graduate Seminar (see seminar project home page here) to assess the initial implementation of the recently developed State Wildlife Action Plans. Objectives of the group project included characterization of plan implementation in seven states and the
District of Columbia (see Figure 1) and a more in-depth assessment of wildlife movement corridors in the plans. Specifically, we asked:

1) To what degree do Wildlife Action Plans address wildlife movement corridors throughout the U.S.?
2) Have Wildlife Action Plans influenced conservation efforts addressing wildlife movement corridors?

Results

We prepared short summaries about plan implementation for each of the green states in above figure (WA, OR, CA, WV, VA, MD, DE, and DC), which are included in our group project report. The analysis of the wildlife movement corridor questions above is also presented in the group project report.
