in June 2000, the 18 members of the Pew Oceans Commission embarked on a
voyage of discovery. They brought together their collective experiences
from the worlds of fishing, science, conservation, government, education,
and business to develop recommendations for a new national ocean policy.

NOAA's
National Ocean Service: Aerial Photography and Shoreline Mapping: The
public’s primary access to NOS aerial photography is via NOS's MapFinder Web
site. On this Web site, coastal survey maps, coastal photography, historical
maps and charts, environmental sensitivity index maps, geodetic control
points, historical maps and charts, hydrographic survey outlines, nautical
charts, and water level stations are available. The site includes approximately
41,000 aerial photographs taken since 1990. The NOAA
Coastal Shoreline Mapping Web site provides the ocean and coastal resource
management community with data and information related to shoreline mapping.
CalFish's Interactive Mapping:
CalFish is envisioned to be a multi-agency cooperative program designed to
gather, maintain, and disseminate fish and aquatic habitat data and data
standards.
