Born to Bill and Diane Grant, in Rapid City, SD. I have one sister, Mary Grant, who has one son, Damon, my nephew. I spent the first years of college at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD, where I studied mathematics and philosophy. I transferred westward to Boise, ID and continued the same majors at Boise State University. I spent a semester abroad in Chile exploring the South American continent and learning Spanish at the La Universidad de Chile in Valdivia. I remained at Boise State University for a MS in Geophysics, studying hydrology. Now I am pursuing a PhD at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management.
