Governance for Sustainable Development Research Workshop

The GSD Workshop brought scholars together at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management for an intensive two day meeting in October. Lively and productive papers, presentations and discussions began the process of developing a common analytic framework and of setting research priorities for those thinking about governance. Represented were a variety of fields including corporate environmental management, international relations, politics and law. Work has now started on a range of future activities, including publications and a conference in May 2007. Participant at the meeting agreed to establish a network on Governance for Sustainable Development to share information and research on this topic on an ongoing basis.

The workshop brought together a mix of legislators, academics and practitioners in the legal, corporate and public interest communities in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America to discuss cutting-edge issues of compliance and enforcement.
