   Magali Delmas is Associate Professor at the Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at the University of California Santa Barbara. Her research examines the interaction between business strategy and public policy. More specifically she analyzes how various forms of regulation impact organizational change and how firms can influence regulation. Previous to embarking on an academic career she worked at the European Commission at the Directorate for Industry. She received her MA in political Science from the University of Paris Sorbonne, and her Ph.D. in Business Policy and Strategy from H.E.C. Graduate School of Management Paris.
 
 
  Research interests: business strategy and public policy
  • Voluntary initiatives to improve environmental performance. This includes voluntary agreements between firms and regulatory agencies and self-regulation such as ISO 14001
  • Impact of deregulation on productivity and environmental performance in the U.S. electric utility sector.
  • Impact of regulation on organizational choices in the waste management, and nuclear industries in Europe and the U.S.
