For the next year, the Baja group will help Loreto Baykeeper better understand how large scale development  due to a growing tourism industry in Loreto, Baja California Súr will ultimately affect the marine environment. This will be achieved by conducting a watershed analysis that will provide Loreto Baykeeper with a foundation to:

Influence Policies for effective environmental management of the bay through the 2009/2010 revision of the Loreto Bay National Management Plan

Conduct ongoing monitoring of Loreto Bay to assess actual outcomes against modeled scenarios

Developthe means for effective public outreach to support Loreto Baykeepers policy initiatives
